08/08/2026 – We are very pleased to share the latest newsletter of the Center for Diversity, Media, and Law (DiML) at Justus Liebig University Giessen, kindly sent to us by our friend and colleague Greta Olson.
Among the Center’s many interdisciplinary activities, we would particularly like to highlight those closely connected with Law and the Humanities, including the Global Law and the Humanities Mentorship Programme and the forthcoming volume Law, Narrative, and Narratology: Interdisciplinary Essays, as well as the Center’s growing engagement with Artificial Intelligence and law, from Critical Legal Tech to the ethical and political implications of generative AI. Of particular interest to the ISLL community are also the initiatives devoted to the role of affects in law, politics, and social life, such as the forthcoming conference Shame and Democracy: Affective Dynamics of Inclusion and Exclusion in Interdisciplinary Discourse.
We are happy to give visibility to the work of a Center with which we share a strong commitment to interdisciplinary research at the intersection of law, culture, technology, and the humanities.
