“Fronteiras em direito & literatura: narrativas insurgentes e inquietações contemporêneas” – X CIDIL, 10ª edição do Colóquio Internacional de Direito e Literatura
Nos dias 22, 23, 29 e 30 de outubro próximo, acontecerá o X CIDIL, 10ª edição do Colóquio Internacional de Direito e Literatura. Realizado pela Rede Brasileira de Direito e Literatura, sociedade científica sem fins lucrativos que reúne grupos de pesquisa sobre D&L nacionais e internacionais, o CIDIL é composto por Conferências, Painéis e Oficinas. Há, também, espaço para apresentação de resumos oriundos de pesquisas em sede de iniciação científica ou de pós-graduação. As apresentações dos trabalhos acontecem nos dias 04 e 05 de novembro. O prazo para submissão de resumos foi prorrogado para 07/10. A programação completa está disponível em http://rdl.org.br/cidil/programacao/

Dante e il giusto
Una settimana di alta formazione nel nome di Dante è quella che attende chi parteciperà alla prestigiosa summer school La Piazza Universale, promossa dal Comune di Bagnacavallo e guidata da un comitato scientifico presieduto dal professor Carlo Ossola, presidente del Comitato nazionale per la celebrazione dei 700 anni dalla morte di Dante Alighieri. La summer school, intitolata Dante il giusto, è rivolta a studenti e dottorandi in discipline giuridiche, umanistiche e filosofiche e si svolgerà dal 30 agosto al 4 settembre. Durante le lezioni e i seminari – tenuti da docenti provenienti dalle università di Lisbona, Colonia, Torino, Svizzera Italiana, Verona e Pavia – si avrà la possibilità di confrontarsi non soltanto con la figura di Dante, ma con le influenze che le sue visioni hanno avuto in tema di giustizia nel pensiero filosofico, nell’arte e nella lettura dei secoli successivi.

“Mosaic: an Approach to Law and Literature” – A conversation piece with James BOYD WHITE
With the support of the ISLL (Italian Society of Law and Literature) and the ATFD (Portuguese Association for Legal Theory, Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy, the Portugueses IVR Section), the UCILeR (within its research area “Law and Time”) will welcome, on the next May 12th, at 3 pm (4 pm in Italia), Professor James Boyd White (L. Hart Wright Collegiate Professor Emeritus of Law, University of Michigan Law School). The webinar will integrate the lecture “Mosaic”, a sequence of brief comments (which will bring some “surprises”!), and a dialogue with the audience. It is a unique opportunity to hear the author of Keep Law Alive considering (with an unmistakable perspective) some of the great challenges that the contemporary world imposes on Law.

‘This Has Been’: Art, Memory, Reparation. The Uneven Path towards Implementing the Washington Principles in Europe
The ASGP (Università Cattolica di Milano) organizes an international webinar on Art, Memory, Reparation. As an artwork cannot be reduced to its material and economic value, so the restitution of the objects forcibly taken under the Nazi regime is first and foremost duty of remembrance and reparation of suffered injustice, a commitment to mend human relationships – between victims and their communities of origin, between artworks and their history, between past and present – that is indispensable to preserve the very culture and values of liberal democratic societies. For these reasons the conference aims at fostering thoughtful reflection on the current state of implementation of the Washington principles in Europe, particularly by comparing the experiences of three key countries – Italy, Switzerland, and Germany – that have been most directly involved in the whirling circulation of cultural objects which preceded, accompanied and followed WWII. The final section of the conference will also try and investigate the relationship between the restitution of ‘looted memory’ and art as a way of remembrance, restitution, and reparation.

01/09/2021 – Undecidabilities and Law – The Coimbra Journal for Legal Studies – 2th Issue. CALL FOR PAPERS
Undecidabilities and Law’s second volume welcomes contributions that highlight the modes of interpretation of values, interests, and rights in situations where cultural conflicts arise. All areas of legal research are welcome, from those which reinvent traditional human rights issues in national and international settings, through those which reconstitute the exacerbated cultural conflicts of our times, to those which consider discrimination and the failure to recognize diversity, and those which explore the contrast between the freedom of trade and export restrictions, for instance in situations of trade embargoes, or the export (and restitution) of nationally valuable works of art. Deadline: 30th September 2021.
10/05/2021- Newton Fellowships for recent PhDs
Professor Maksymilian Del Mar, a colleague from the School of Law, Queen Mary University of London, informs us that the British Academy has recently released a call for Newton International Fellowships. These are highly competitive and prestigious 2-year fellowships for recent doctoral graduates (within 7 years of their Ph.D.) currently working outside of the UK, and who want to spend time researching in the UK. The deadline is 16 June. Anyone who is interested in applying for the Fellowship to be hosted at Queen Mary University of London is welcome to make informal inquiries to Prof. Del Mar: m.delmar@qmul.ac.uk. Prof Del Mar would especially welcome inquiries from exceptional PhD graduates with an interest in working at the intersection of law, literature and philosophy. As the deadline is short, anyone interested would need to email with a CV, and a 2-page idea for the Fellowship project by Monday 17 May.

Diamo notizia che nella laurea magistrale in Giurisprudenza, dell’Università di Foggia è stato introdotto l’insegnamento di Diritto e Letteratura (6 CFU) a partire dall’a.a. 2020-2021 sotto il SSD di IUS/20.
