We are pleased to share two upcoming events organized within the Global Law & Humanities Mentorship Program, offering important opportunities for discussion on legal critique and interdisciplinary research.
The first event is the digital book launch of Law & Critique / Recht & Kritik (Karl Alber Verlag), which will take place on 23 April 2026 at 6:00 PM (CET). The volume addresses the ambivalent relationship between law and critique in a context marked by autocratic legalism, polycrisis, and lawfare. Bringing together 29 contributors, it explores a range of perspectives—from decolonial and critical race approaches to reflections on the rule of law in times of democratic crisis—while examining law in relation to social practices, political movements, and processes of subjugation . The event will be moderated by Greta Olson and will feature contributions by Peter Goodrich, Heide Gerstenberger, Gerlov van Engelenhoven, Ralph Grunewald, and Daria Bayer. Participation is open and does not require registration.
The second event is an online workshop on inter- and transdisciplinary research, which will take place on 13 May 2026 (2:00–4:30 PM CET) with Dr Geetha Reddy (The Open University). Organized as part of the Mentorship Program, the workshop will focus on methodologies and practices of interdisciplinary collaboration, with particular attention to the dialogue between law and the humanities. Further information and registration details are available through the official communication.
Together, these events highlight both the critical and methodological dimensions of Law & Humanities, engaging with law as a site of critique and as a space of interdisciplinary inquiry. For details here.
