30/06/2025 [deadline] – We solicit your interest in joining the Global Law and the Humanities Mentorship Program, a joint initiative of several national and international law and humanities organizations, including LCH; the Law and the Humanities Hub at IALS, London; the Center for Diversity, Media, and Law (DiML) at Justus Liebig University Giessen; the Italian Society for Law and Literature; the Law, Literature and Humanities Association of Australasia; and the Netherlands Research School for Literary Studies (OSL) – Literature, Law and Society Research Group.
The program is meant to assist early career scholars (i.e., students currently pursuing a PhD, DPhil, or JD or who are within seven years of completing the degree) by linking them up with a mid- to senior career mentor who would be willing to advise them on the various challenges they face, involving methodological questions and resources, advice on publication venues, and suggestions about preparing for the job market and developing a research profile.
The aim is to find scholars willing to act as mentors in this capacity by meeting up, on a one-on-one basis (either in person or, more likely, online), at least 3 times over a year. We would also like to offer an online plenary workshop on scholarly publishing (journal articles and books) in February 2026.
If you would like to participate in either or both of these ventures, please fill out this Google Form. We hope to announce the start of the program by the middle of June and to sign up younger scholars to participate over the summer.
This initiative is coordinated by Simon Stern, Kathleen Birrell, Andrew Benjamin Bricker, Angela Condello, Alberto Godioli, Greta Olson, Timothy Peters, and Anat Rosenberg.
