June 28 –July 3, Istanbul – The International Society for Law and Literature (ISLL) is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the Special Workshop “Visual Regimes, Evidentiary Seeing and Post-Textual Legal Practices”, to be held within the XXIX World Congress of the International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (IVR), Istanbul 2026.
Coordinated by Brisa Paim Duarte and José Manuel Aroso Linhares (UCILeR and ISLL), this workshop addresses the growing relevance of visuality in contemporary legal practices. It invites reflections on evidentiary regimes, the transformation of legal perception, and the emergence of post-textual forms of legal knowledge, engaging with perspectives from law, visual studies, media theory, and related fields.
The workshop seeks to advance critical inquiry into how seeing, images, and visual dispositifs are reshaping legal epistemologies and practices.
